Abstract
Before moving on to the main subject of routing protocols of the Internet, this review paper
offers a brief introductory insight into what routing is, how it works and what routing
protocols are. Afterwards, Internet routing protocols are succinctly discussed, zooming in on
the official Internet routing protocol, BGP, alongside other types of routing protocols.
