Cornell History: Hughie April 02, 1869 Cornell’s only Baseball Hall of Famer, Hughie Jennings, Class of 1904, is born. Jennings played for the Orioles, Phillies and Tigers, and won five National League titles. He took a break to study law at Cornell and coach the baseball team, but departed to manage the Tigers 1907-20. He holds the record for being hit by more pitches (287) than any other player and was once knocked unconscious for three days.来源(Source From):
