Cornell History: First lacrosse game October 15, 1887 The first lacrosse game is played at Cornell. Two brothers, Albert Vickers, Class of 1889, and Tom Vickers, Class of 1890, served as team captains. The Cornell Daily Sun reported: “By the interest shown in the game and the large number of spectators both students and visitors, surely lacrosse has come to stay.” About 18 players participated, half a dozen who had never played before. “This will account for some of the bad plays and ‘fumbles’ which were noticed,” the Sun reported.来源(Source From):
