Cornell History: Spring tour May 05, 1902 Wade Hibbard, professor of railway mechanical engineering, arranged for the usual spring tour for students in the Sibley College of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanic Arts, the Cornell Alumni News reports. “The trip this year may include visits to Buffalo, Dunkirk, Pittsburgh and Altoona, where the party will inspect steel works, rolling mills, locomotive and car shops, steel foundries, malleable iron works, coke manufactories and other places of interest.”
