Cornell History: Bogus Cornellian October 21, 1921 Ransom Denny is jailed for petit larceny. Denny had been traveling the country for more than four years claiming to be a Cornellian and fraudulently wearing a fraternity pin. He would claim his pocket had been picked, ask to borrow money from Cornellians and then write a bad check in exchange. He was arrested multiple times and eventually jailed on $10,000 bail, at the time the largest bail amount for petit larceny in New York state.来源(Source From):
