Cornell History: 1st Hotel Ezra Cornell May 07, 1926 The first Hotel Ezra Cornell is held in Risley Hall. Famed hotelier Ellsworth M. Statler attended Hotel Ezra the next year, declaring: “I’m converted. [Dean Howard] Meek can have any damn thing he wants” and offering significant financial support. Today Hotel Ezra is a three-day hospitality-industry conference run by Hotel School students who showcase what they have learned in the classroom.
