Cornell History: Pantry professor May 26, 1958 “Pantry Professor” Joey Green ’80 is born. As a student, Green founded the Cornell Lunatic, a campus humor magazine, in 1978. He went on to write about unconventional uses for everyday items in such best-selling books as “The Mad Scientist Handbook,” “Polish Your Furniture With Pantyhose” and “Paint Your House With Powdered Milk.” The former ad copywriter frequently does demonstrations on morning and late-night talk shows.
