Cornell History: Vet med center opens June 07, 1996 The Veterinary Medical Center is dedicated. The five-story facility, built with $54 million in funding from New York state, houses the Cornell University Hospital for Animals (including the Companion Animal Hospital, and the Equine and Farm Animal Hospitals) and research facilities and offices. Patient-care areas in the hospital include behavior, cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, nutrition, ophthalmology, orthopedics and sports medicine, surgery and theriogenology, which veterinarians know means animal reproductive biology.
