| Tyson Research Center Tyson Research Center is a 2,000-acre outdoor laboratory owned and managed by Washington University in St. Louis. Tyson Research Center’s mission is to provide a living landscape for environmental research and education as a component of Washington University’s International Center for Advanced Renewal Energy and Sustainability (). Tyson provides a landscape-scale experimental venue for studies on ecosystem sustainability. Research and educational opportunities are available for Washington University undergraduate and graduate students as well as researchers and students from nearby institutions. Tyson Research Center is located in western St. Louis County, 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Washington University in St. Louis’ Danforth Campus, just off of Interstate 44.
