Technical Reviews about Several Operating System: With the invention and practical application of computer, operating system(OS) seems to be one of the most prevailing topics in the technical and electronic product communities. OS is defined as software, bridging the interaction between computer hardware and computer users. It provides an efficient and convenient manner for utilization. In practice, OS on different device from different companies has different forms. Not only do the computers differ on OS, but also the Mobile devices. For instance, Google Pixel is fixed with Android while the iPhone comes with Apple iOS. Accordingly, when users tend to buy some kind of devices, they need to know the hardware performance, like processor, memory, storage, et al. and consider the UI design, efficiency and man-friendliness. Here are some reviews about the existing OS in the market. 1. Microsoft Windows System: Microsoft Windows, commonly referred to as Windows, is a group of several proprietary graphical operating system families, all of which are developed and marketed by Microsoft. Active Microsoft Windows families include Windows NT and Windows IoT. Defunct Microsoft Windows families include Windows 9x, Windows Mobile and Windows Phone. Windows uses a graphical GUI, which is more user-friend than the previous Dos that requires input instruction. It is currently the mainstream of computer operating systems. Common systems include Win7,Win10, and XP system. There are some features of Microsoft Windows System: Intuitive and efficient object-oriented graphical user interface, easy to learn and use; The user interface is unified, friend and beautiful; Multitasking, the number of users determines the number of rich applications; There is a greater risk of computer virus infection during use; Windows operating system has good hardware support 2. MacOS – macOS It is a series of proprietary graphical operating systems developed by Apple Inc. It is based on the Unix operating system and on technologies developed at NeXT. It shares OS and application development only in the laptops and computers produced by Apple Inc, which means the devices are no compatible with other OS or applications not written in Swift or Objective-C. Undoubtedly, it gives us a swift and nice UI interface and it is not that hard to learn to use it from Windows. In my perspective, it is remarkably convenient for me to manage the documents and applications. It is the successor to the operating system Apple designed for its Macintosh computer, was introduced in 1984, and pioneered some of the technologies we are still proud of when the PC was just a boring character interface for DOS. For example, GUI graphical user interface, multimedia application, mouse, etc. Macintosh computer has a wide range of applications in the fields of publishing, printing, film and television production, education, etc. Microsoft Windows still has the shadow of Mac in many aspects. Recently, Apple released the most advanced personal computer operating system, Mac OS X. 3. Linux Linux is actually a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel. GNU Project provides many support to their distributions. Developers are more likely to use this sort of operating system to equip their programming tools or office tools. However, this is also a problem for the new guys who are not familiar to the OS and repeat the installation procedures till they are done. 4. Unix system The Unix system was born at Bell LABS in 1969, and was originally used on small and medium-sized computers. The first Unix system to be ported to the 80286 microcomputer was called Xenix.Xenix systems are characterized by being short, lean, low overhead, and fast.UNIX provides the user with a time-sharing system to control the activities and resources of the computer, and provides an interactive, flexible operating boundary.UNIX was designed to run multiple processes simultaneously, enabling users to share data with each other. At the same time, UNIX supports a modular structure, so when you install the UNIX operating system, you only need to install what you need to do. For example, UNIX supports many programming development tools, but if you are not doing development work, you only need to install a minimum of compilers. The user interface also supports the principle of modularity, where unrelated commands can be piped together to perform very complex operations. There are many varieties of UNIX, and many companies have their own versions, such as AT&T, Sun, HP, and so on. 5. iOS iOS is a mobile operating system created and developed by Apple Inc. Its home screen, rendered by Spring Board, displays application icons and a dock at the bottom where users can pin their most frequently used apps. Applications for iOS are mostly built using components of UIK it, a programming framework. It allows applications to have a consistent look and feel with the OS, nevertheless offering customization. It should be mentioned that iOS alike macOS, is not available for the devices from other companies.
